The Birks Cinema

The fully refurbished single-screen cinema offers a film-tastic 100-seat auditorium with spacious, comfortable seating and state-of-the art digital projection and sound system.

Audiences can enjoy the latest movie releases as well as broadcast live events (theatre, opera, ballet), while enjoying a glass of local beer or wine too!

The welcoming cafe-bar offers a wide selection of coffees, teas, local cakes, snacks (popcorn and sweets), as well as an enticing range of soft-drinks, beers and wines.

Our mezzanine level hosts live Celtic acoustic music on Thursday evenings – check our website for details of other events. As a community-owned charitable venture, your visit makes a real contribution to Highland Perthshire too!

Food and Drink at PFT:

Offering ‘One of the Best Views in Scotland' (according to The Scotsman) in ‘a stunning location' (according to The Guardian in 2009), PFT's Restaurant, Café and Bar provide tasty, unpretentious, yet contemporary food, and a wide range of refreshments, all at a reasonable price. Dinner is prepared on the premises, using fresh and locally sourced produce. We serve dinner from 6.30pm in Summer from Monday to Saturday (and on Sundays when a concert is scheduled), so we can guarantee that you won't miss curtain up!

The Taybank

Nigel and Beverley Large took over The Taybank from Dougie McLean in 2003 and have taken it from strength to strength. Over the years, we have broadened our horizons and now host a wide range of styles of music from traditional to rock to jazz to soul to blues and anything else. We have also become a great venue for live bands, as well as sessions - impromptu and otherwise!!! Come and visit us on a Sunday afternoon for our fabulous Blues Sundays or the Taybank Jazz Jam!

You are guaranteed a warm welcome and a fabulous pint in the bar from our longstanding Managers - Eddie Jordan who has been part of The Taybank as long as the building (nearly!) and Susie & Jim McCrystal who have been here for the past decade.

Our Chef, Susan MacRae, brings you a fantastic range of reasonably priced, traditional home cooked food. As well as our famous traditional stovies, we serve great pizzas and home made burgers, together with a varied pub grub menu. Look at the blackboard for our soups of the day and specials.

Why not come and try a nice refreshing pint of Due South - a brand new ale brewed just a few miles away the Strathbraan Brewery, and this has now been joined by Head East, a more traditional bitter.

Aberfeldy Watermill Bookshop, Cafe and Gallery

Housed in a grade A listed former watermill, we combine a bookshop, cafe, art gallery and home shop to create a unique experience.

The Watermill won the 2008-09 award for best independent bookshop in the whole of the UK. We have the widest range of titles in the rural highlands, from art & design to thrillers, fiction, local history, food & drink, travel, biographies and much more.

We have a whole room of books for children. In the cafe we serve a light lunch menu - soups, sandwiches and salads as well as fine teas and coffee. We have a selection of home-made cakes, and our specials change daily. In the art gallery we have changing exhibitions alongside our current collection of fine art prints. We have a range of works to suit a variety of budgets.

Next door in the old mill barn is Homer, our homes and gardens shop. Homer sells design-led homeware sourced from all over Europe, together with vintage furniture.
