It's hard not to be passionate about Highland Perthshire as a place to live in as well as visit. Hopefully these blogs prove the point!
With mist, rain and a cold chill in the air, it’s been another quiet day at the osprey nest at Loch of the Lowes.
Our pair have been doing a little bit of moss and stick re-arrangement and there have been several successful (and unsuccessful) matings. True to his past behaviour, LM12 (the male) sometimes feels he only needs to stand on his mate’s back to perform his duties! One thing he has proved over the years is his expertise in fishing. At 4.40pm today he brought a small pike to the nest which she immediately snatched away to eat.
All is going smoothly so far and we cautiously look forward to eggs being laid in the coming days.
Again, apologies to anyone having problems watching the nest webcam over the week-end, we hope to have it sorted out as soon as possible.
