It's hard not to be passionate about Highland Perthshire as a place to live in as well as visit. Hopefully these blogs prove the point!
We have been enjoying the beautiful afternoon sunshine across the Loch from our hide and making the most of the remaining light, along the short woodland walk from the car park, as the evenings draw closer. The autumn equinox is nearly upon us; Tuesday 23rd September marks the arrival of the season of fall and is seen as the period of change that leads to the darkness of winter.
During this time of of change what better way to spend your day than to explore your local area and come and have some family fun with us!
Join us this weekend at the reserve for this FREE event
(normal visitor centre admission charges apply)
We have lots of children’s activities and quizzes to help you get to know your oaks from your beeches this autumn and the whole family can get involved with a scavenger hunt!
This Saturday 20th September between 1pm-3pm
also sees our ranger team head out on a leisurely stroll through the woodland
on the Discover trees walk to learn how to identify trees.
Meet at the visitor centre just before 1pm and our staff can take payment for the walk; Adult £3, concession/member £2, Child £1.
(Normal visitor centre charges apply).
So what are you waiting for come and explore the visitor centre and make a day of it with a morning of activities and quizzes, a picnic by the meadow, before taking the discover trees walk with the ranger. End your day with a scavenger hunt for all the family. Pack lunch required, although visitor centre does offer hot/cold drinks and small selection of snacks.
We look forward to welcoming you as a new or returning visitor to Loch of the Lowes this weekend.
