PH16 5BXDiscover the Victorian town of Pitlochry and the village of Moulin
A delightful way to explore the history of the Victorian resort of Pitlochry (town by the sentinel stone) and its neighbour, the village of Moulin (plain of the pool).
Local Visitor InformationPrinted Information:
Discover the Dane's Stone (circa second millennium B.C.), the ruins of Caisteal Dubh (Black Castle), built approximately 1326, and the site of Moulin Market - once the largest in Atholl in days gone by. Discover how Pitlochry, due to the construction of General Wade's Road after the Jacobite uprisings and the opening of the Highland Railway in 1865, eclipsed its neighbour to become one of the most popular visitor destinations in Scotland - whilst still retaining the charm and character that pleased Queen Victoria so much when she visited the area in 1842.
Pitlochry Walks Leaflet, available at the Visitor Information Centre in the centre of the town.
