Meals at Shian recognise the wealth of the local produce available. <br /> <br />Shian is in the hamlet of Trochry, less than four miles west of Dunkeld on the track of General Wade's road, trodden in the past by visitors ranging from Rob Roy and Bonnie Prince Charlie to Beatrix Potter. This area of Strathbraan (which takes its name from the River Braan), is often known as the 'Secret Strath' - part of Perthshire's secret storybook territory of straths and glens.- Amulree, Strathbraan and Glen Quaich lie within a golden triangle, between Dunkeld, Aberfeldy and the Sma Glen.</p> Jessie Mac's 1229 Jessie Mac's is a refurbished Victorian manse, with 7 bedrooms, offering a mix of self-catering hostel and bed &amp; breakfast accommodation. We are a ten minute walk from Dunkeld and only 1 hour's drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow, with great public transport links. Birnam Guest House 1223 Birnam Guest House has an enviable central location in the village and has been up-graded to provide accommodation of a very high standard to include delightful ensuite bedrooms, cosy dining room and conservatory lounge overlooking our gardens and private car park. <br /><br />They also operate guided wildife holidays, walks and other activities through <a href="http://www.wildoutdoors.info/index.html" target="_blank">Wild Outdoors</a>. The Pend 1227 We have three guest bedrooms. Two have a single bed and a double bed in each (they can be used as double or twin or family rooms) and one with a double bed (used as a single or a double room). They do not have en-suite facilities but are tastefully decorated and furnished using many fine antiques and ornaments. The rooms are comprehensively equipped with wash-hand basin, mirror, shaver socket, towels, luxury bathrobes, toiletries and colour TV.<br /><br />We also provide a hospitality tray that includes a wide range of herbal, fruit and traditional teas, a choice of coffees and drinking chocolate. There is a mini-fridge in each room and we supply fresh milk. There are two large bathrooms for the use of our guests.<br /><br /> The quality of our accommodation has been judged as 4 Star by the Scottish Tourist Board, ever since we opened in 1997.
