Food & Drink

Think of Scotland and you think of whisky. Highland Perthshire has three of Scotland’s most popular whisky distilleries. Dewar’s World of Whisky at Aberfeldy Distillery is a hands-on, hi-tech insight into our national drink. Pitlochry has two distilleries: Bell’s Blair Athol Distillery presents the story of the “water of life” in a traditional manner, while Edradour has been known as Scotland’s smallest distillery.

Beer drinkers are certainly not forgotten, Moulin Brewery was one of Scotland’s first independent micro-breweries and produces a range of acclaimed beers.

Restaurants and cafés throughout Highland Perthshire make imaginative use of fresh, local produce when it’s at its seasonal best, and if you have a sweet tooth, don’t miss desserts like cranachan - raspberries, oatmeal, cream and honey mixed with a wee taste of whisky.

You’ll find plenty of opportunities to take home a flavour of Highland Perthshire from our many local delicatessens and food shops, including locally smoked salmon and meats, delicious baking or fine chocolate.

Why not visit one of our regular farmers’ markets and meet some of the characters who produce our unique food and drink.
