One of Scotland's best known and most popular 'Munro' mountains.

Schiehallion (translated as Fairy Hill of the Caledonians) is one of Scotland’s best known landmarks and best loved hills. Braes of Foss car park is the usual start point for an ascent and is located off a minor road that runs off the B846 between Tummel Bridge and Aberfeldy.
Note there is no way marking on Schiehallion, though the route is a straight-forward mountain ascent with path throughout with the summit may be reached along the realigned east-ridge path.
Take care on the ridge as the ground is strewn with angular rocks and boulders and exposed to the weather. Summit visitors should be able to navigate, and should come equipped as for any mountain walk. Choose a good, clear day to get the most out of Schiehallion.
A lower-level walk starting off on the new path, but heading south to Gleann Mòr, can be very rewarding. This quiet, open glen on the sunny side of the hill has a wooded gorge, and grassy areas round the remains of shielings.
Moorland birds such as grouse and ptarmigan can be seen as well as birds of prey soaring overhead.
